Neukirchen and the state of Salzburg don't just have the usual 4 seasons of the year, but rather 5! Here comes the harvest time. In the time between the end of August to the start of November, we celebrate in the village squares, on the farms, at the Alpine Cattle Drive and at the harvest festival host establishments. From the sociable “Hoagascht” (get together, entertainment) at the village square with music and dancing, to the large procession with all active traditional associations, horse-drawn carriages and traditional brass bands, everyone is there.
During the Harvest Festival, you have the opportunity to get to know traditional, rural life during artisan demonstrations, hikes, cooking lessons, thanksgiving, the Alpine Cattle Drive (festival) and traditional events. More than 200 events make this “season of the year” an interesting, entertaining and fun vacation time.
