Cross-country skiing in the national park
Cross-country skiing is one of the healthiest sports - it works almost every muscle and also stimulates the psyche in a positive way - a perfect sport for holidays too. Explore the winter wonderland of the national park on cross-country skis - as slowly or as quickly as you like.
10 different, perfectly groomed trails with a length of 45 km await you in the Wildkogel Arena alone. You will find every type of trail in the region - from easy, flat trails in the valley to challenging trails with long ascents and steep descents to high-altitude trails with fantastic views. The highlight is the "Pinzgau Loipe", which allows you to explore the entire Salzach Valley in the direction of Krimml (with the world-famous Krimml Waterfalls) or in the direction of Mittersill and on to Zell am See. You can return on the cross-country ski trail, with the ski bus or the Pinzgau local railway - just as you wish or as your physical condition allows.
If you don't have or don't want to bring your own cross-country skiing equipment, there are sports shops in Neukirchen and the region where you can hire or buy it.
